Our Story

In grad school I was doing a simple research study. I wanted to create a simple study to answer some basic research questions. I searched for survey software and they usually fell into the following categories (1) Too expensive, (2) too complicated to us, (3) or did not have the functionality my fellow students and I needed.

My instructors told me to to create paper surveys and then hand them out to everyone to fill in. I had to data enter them onto an excel spreadsheet. Managing this was a disaster. I could have hired a software engineer to build out a survey program to do all this but that would have cost $50,000. Something I simply did not have.

Fast forward 5-10 years, I picked up software engineering to skills to building a platform for us to all do reliable research and build this community. The same product that would have cost me $50,000 is substantially less.
